Highlights of the month
eLearning Papers No 30 
The topic of the 30th issue will be ‘21st century teachers and their workplace’. It will deal with the question what it means to be a teacher in the knowledge society. This issue will seek practical examples from the present and take a look into the future. Provisional date of publication: July 2012

‘Media & Learning 2012’
The Media & Learning 2012 Conference is the place to be if you are interested in the latest developments, services and uses of media in education and training. Aimed at both policy makers and practitioners, the purpose of this annual event is to identify policies and initiatives that promote digital and media competence at all levels of education and training as well as to promote best-practice in the take-up and application of media in education and training. ‘ICVL 2012 - 7th International Conference on Virtual Learning’

Olympics 2012 portal launchedOpenLearn gives you free access to learning materials from The Open University. The LearningSpace contains materials from Open University courses. These are materials from the same courses registered students take – but online and free to the world! Access interactive materials, free learning, blog posts and videos from here.
Community ‘Mainstreaming eLearning in National Policies (Digital Agenda Assembly)’ A new online platform has been launched to discuss the Digital Agenda for Europe. Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission, published the news in her blog. The community members have gathered a variety of materials about this topic. Join the community about 'Mainstreaming eLearning in National Policies' to contribute to the discussion.
Community ‘Language learning and social media: 6 key dialogues (LS6)’ The LS6 network has launched a new competition: Social media in informal language learning and use. This competition aims at documenting how a language learner in the Web 2.0 uses social media for language learning in daily life outside formal learning contexts. Find out how to participate here.
